Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Margaret Gertrude Dyer Harrison, 88 of Cookeville will be held Saturday May 11 at 3 p.m. at Cookeville City Cemetery. Rev. Erin Angel will officiate. Mrs. Harrison"�s family will receive friends immediately following services at the cemetery. Mrs. Harrison died Thursday morning May 9, 2013 in Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born July 14, 1924 in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Dr Lex and Audra Haynes Dyer. Her place of birth was their Jefferson home, which was later expanded and remodeled in Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mrs. Harrison was a life-long member of Cookeville First Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Cookeville Central High School and received her B.S. Degree in Business/English Education from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (TTU). She taught school at Dry Valley Elementary School in the 1940"�s and was a former Biological Sciences Librarian at the University of Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 64 years Nathanael (Nat) Andrew Harrison (whom she married December 20, 1947 in Knoxville); Sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Dyer and Robert (Bob) Titsworth; five brothers Wyndham Joseph (Joe) Dyer SR, Henry Dyer, James (Jim) Dyer, and Jefferson (Jeff) Dyer; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Goff Dyer, Nell Gentry Dyer, Leiron Keisling Dyer, and Mary Ann Kittrell Dyer; and a niece, Judy Dyer West. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Andrew and Judy McKee Harrison of Athens, GA, Timothy Paul and Alicia "Alice"� Nesnia Harrison of Cookeville; three grandsons, Joseph Andrew and Mark Daniel Harrison of Athens, GA and Nathaniel Nesnia Harrison of Cookeville; sisters-in-law, Lenola Martin Dyer and Mary Rumberger; nephews, Rusby Titsworth, Joseph (Joe) Dyer JR, Charles Dyer, Gary Dyer, William (Bill) Dyer, Michael Dyer and Andrew (Andy) Dyer; and nieces Patricia Titsworth Eker, Margaret Titsworth Gartman, Linda Dyer Doran, Jane Dyer and Deborah Dyer Kudrey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Jordan, James Drake, Walter Drake, Albert Wilhelm, and the surviving members of Cookeville Central High School Class of 1942. Active pallbearers will be Joe F. Dyer, JR, Charles Lex Dyer, Gary Richard Dyer, Bill Dyer, Rusby Titsworth, Andy Dyer, Michael Dyer, Patrick Dyer, Frank Dyer, Joseph Andrew Harrison, Mark Daniel Harrison, Nathaniel Nesnia Harrison and Matthew Wilhelm. Memorial contributions may be made to Happy Haven Children"�s Home 2311 Wakefield Drive Cookeville, TN 38501 or Hiwassee College 225 Hiwassee College Drive Madisonville, TN 37354.
