Mamie Love Burgess, 72 of Baxter was beckoned to her eternal home by her Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage, TN. Mamie was born December 13, 1939 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Amon and Oma Hall Love. She was a retired Secretary in the Math Department at Tennessee Tech University. She attended Marsh Chapel at Cookeville Rescue Mission. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her Christian countenance and loving spirit radiated to everyone she encountered. That spirit will continue to live on in all of those whose lives she touched. Her virtues too numerous to list, she will be missed beyond words but her life will be celebrated always by those who so dearly loved her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas H. Burgess, the beloved father of their two daughters, and later by second husband Al Goulet. She is survived by 2 daughters & Sons-in-law DeAnna & David Hughes of Kempville, Tn., Lauren & Tim Anderson of Baxter, three grandsons: Derek Carter, Devin Carter, Ty Anderson, step-grandson Ryan Hughes, four great-grandchildren: Drake Carter, Draven Carter, Mylee Carter, Tobey Carter and step-great-grandaughter Leita Rhea, sister Edna Lawrence of Vilonia, Arkansas, brother Dwight Love of Spring Hill, Ark. True to her ever thoughtful nature, she did not want the traditional, mournful memorial service, instead, her immediate family will be having a Celebration of Life on some cherished family property where she will be buried. Memorial Contributions may be made to Cookeville Rescue Mission, P.O.Box 1144, Cookeville, TN 38503 or 1331 South Jefferson Ave. Cookeville, TN. % of Bro. Larry Self.
