Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Lou Brown, age 90 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, October 12 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Buddy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Brown's family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. She died Sunday morning October 9, 2016 in NHC of Cookeville. Mrs. Brown was born October 19, 1925 in Cookeville to the late Otha Franklin and Zula Hedgecough Goodwin. She was a retired factory worker and a long-time member of Jefferson Ave Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Connie Lee Brown; son, Richmond Burgess; sister, Joyce Hughes; and two brothers, Howard Goodwin and Ralph Goodwin. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy and Summer Brown, Terry Brown; daughter, Mary Sandra Brown all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Mitchell Brown, Tori (Jimmy) Lester, Ben Brown, Sophia Brown, and Annie Brown; two great grandchildren, Sean Desiree Lester and Emma Brown; and sister, Willie Mae Burgess of Cookeville. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Goodwin, Dale Hughes, and William Martin. Active Pallbearers will be Mitchell Brown, Ben Brown, Donny Hall, Lynn Hughes, Mike Pippin, Terry Grasky and Jeff Daniels.
