Mable Grasty

Funeral services for Mable Grasty, 79 of Cookeville, will be Thursday, March 14 at 2 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sand Springs Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Alex Lisic will officiate.

Mrs. Grasty died Monday, March 11, 2024 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 11, 1945 in Overton County, TN to the late Andrew and Lora Strange McCowan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie William "JW" Grasty on April 23, 2010; granddaughter, Stephanie Marie Grasty; sisters, Lula Parlin and Ina McCowan; brothers, Ernest McCowan, Ernal McCowan, Vernal McCowan and Kenneth McCowan.

She was a member of Rocky Point Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Debbie (Nicky) Ray, Theresa Roberts; son, Larry (Betty) Grasty all of Cookeville; sister, Betty Henry of Cookeville; brothers, Glen (Sharon) McCowan of Red Key, IN, Rick (Debbie) McCowan of Pineville, IN, Don McCowan of Red Key, IN; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Gage Roberts, Frank McCowan, Roger Hoose, Delmer Bowman, Chris Bowman and Timmy Henry will serve as pallbearers.
