Lynn Holloway

Funeral services for Mr. James Lynn Holloway, 56, of Cookeville will be held at 7pm Thursday, May 15 at Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dr. Charles McCaskey officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4pm until service time at the church. Mr. Holloway died suddenly Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born August 19, 1957 on Nashville, TN to Betty Grisard Holloway and the late Donald Byrd Holloway Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Sam and Ida Holloway who lived in the Crab Orchard community, and maternal grandparents, James and Willie Grisard, who lived in Madison, TN. Mr. Holloway was a member of Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was the co-founder and co-operator of Racquet Master in Cookeville, and an accomplished athlete in many disciplines. He excelled at slalom water skiing, endurance races, and was the Mr. Tennessee State Body Building Champion in 1985. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Laura Holloway of Santa Rosa Beach, Fl; daughter, Jessie Holloway of Nashville; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Jan Holloway of Cookeville; sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Terry Julian of Cookeville; two nephews, Don Byrd Holloway III and Jonathon Julian; and niece, Kelly Gaw, and her husband Landon. Pallbearers will be Gene Schmidt, Mike Broyles, Tommy Morris, Tim Hitchcock, Danny Kilpatrick, and Dan Scott.
