Funeral services for Lula Margaret Knight, Age 100 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, November 18 at 1 P.M. from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Dodson Branch Cemetery in the Dodson Branch Community of Jackson County. Mrs. Knight died Friday Evening, November 14, 2014 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County in Algood. She was born July 25, 1914 in Jackson County to the late Forrest Rollin and Mary Bennett Hardy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Knight; sons Joel Knight and James Knight; granddaughter, Brenda Knight; sister, Lela Allen, brother Daniel Hardy. She was a member of Knights Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, crochet and made an excellent apple stack cake. She was all that you expect a grandmother to be loving, maker of scrumptious food, comforting arms, and endlessly patient. Survivors include sister Ila Petty of Algood; nine grandchildren: Joel Knight, Richie Knight, Victor Knight, Cindy Knight, Margaret Dixon, John Knight, Jimmy Knight, Wanda Bradshaw and Faith Knight, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren. Rev. Mike Gillock will officiate. Family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 P.M. and after 12 Noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
