Lovie C Riddle

Funeral Services for Lovie C. Riddle age 94 of Cookeville, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 from the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Shipley Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, February 24, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Mrs. Riddle died Monday, February 21, 2011 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 16, 1916 in Board Valley in Putnam County TN to the late Norman Curtis Clouse and Gracie Henry. She was of the Church of Christ faith and better known as “MA” by all. Lovie was a homemaker and also a gardener where she enjoyed growing her beautiful flowers and vegetables. Lovie could grow just about anything she planted. She had an amazing green thumb. She also cared for numberous children. Everyone, even her children called her Ma. She cared so deeply for others especially children. Mrs. Riddle is survived by three sons: Billy Howard and wife Doris Riddle of Conroe TX, Bobby S. and wife Linda Riddle of Cookeville and Andrew Jackson Jr. and wife Dean Riddle of Algood. She is also survived by five sisters: Lorene Ashburn, Barbara Bohannon, Bonnie Tallent all of Cookeville, Ruby Sherrell of Sparta and Pearl Baker of Piedmont MO and one brother Daniel Curtis “Boone” Clouse and wife Sharon of Cookeville. Lovie is also survived by eight grandchildren Carla and husband James Clo’n of Murfreesboro, Billy and wife Sue Riddle, Tracy and Linda Riddle, and Kyle Riddle all of TX, Robert and wife Leatha Riddle, Robin and wife Shirley Riddle, Regina Riddle McDaniel, and Kelly and wife Rebekah Riddle all of Cookeville. In addition, she is survived by fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Lovie was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Jackson Riddle Sr., two sisters Winnie Lee Grider and Dimple Ilene Pistole, one brother Leevoy Clouse, and two great grandsons Robert Brandon Riddle and Justin Derrick Brown. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family would like to express their appreciation to Lovie’s home health nurse Donna Sherrell. Bro. Paul Fox will officiate at the service.
