Funeral services for Lovell Kenneth Hall, age 84, of Shelbyville, formerly of Cookeville, will be Sunday afternoon October 23rd at 3:00 p.m. from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper – Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. His son, Carl E. Hall and Pastor Charles Cook will officiate. Burial will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 noon until service time. Lovell was born March 8th, 1932 in Putnam County, Tennessee, to the late Alva Hall and Betsy Stamps Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers David Aaron Hall and James Thomas "Tom" Hall, and a sister, Magdalene Hall; sisters-in-law, Gaynell Hall, Cleta and husband Woody Lane; brothers-in-law, James and wife, Deannie Cobble and Shelby Cobble; nephew, Gary Lane. Lovell was a businessman, positive influence in the community, faithful follower of the Lord Jesus and regular church attender. He managed and later became owner of Hall's Food Market on Cedar Avenue. Because of his faith in Jesus and belief in the gospel he had a radio program on WHUB at 6:45 am each morning, for a lot of years, where he played Gospel songs and advertised the store business. He also played the guitar and sang on different occasions at churches and various places. After he left the grocery business in 1976, he worked at other related companies. He managed the Gainesboro Save-A-Lot, distributed baked goods for Flowers Bakery and Little Debbie Snack Cake, and before retiring in 2011, he worked as a merchandiser for Kraft Nabisco Company. Lovell's primary reason for living was to follow Jesus and to serve others. He will be greatly missed on this earth but gladly received and loved in Heaven. He always loved to see his family come around and always expressed love and appreciation to them. He always had a kind word to give! Lovell is survived by: his wife of sixty-five years, Margaret Cobble Hall, Shelbyville, TN.; Son, Carl E.
