Louella Pennington

Memorial services for Louella Pennington, age 92, of Sparta, will be held in Portsmouth OH. Mrs. Pennington passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at her home and surrounded by her family. She was born September 1, 1917 in Portsmouth OH to the late George R. McCain and Laura Blakeman. Louella was of the Baptist faith and a loving mother and homemaker. She also spent many years in law enforcement with the Scioto County OH Sheriff Department. She was a member of, and active in, both the American Legion and Fraternal Order of Police as long as her health allowed. She was also a member of the RNC. Her family includes two sons; Jim Pennington and his wife Mary of Sparta, and Bill Pennington and wife Jo Anne of Cincinnati OH; two sisters, Winifred Canter and husband Alanzo of Rosemont OH, and Garnett Crouch of Mentor OH. She is also survived by Eight Grandchildren, Twenty Three Great-Grandchildren, and One Great-Great-Grandchild. Mrs. Pennington was preceded in death by her husband, Pearle Clyde Pennington; her parents, George R. McCain and Laura Blakeman McCain; two brothers, Ervin and Alfred McCain; one sister, Florence Phillips; and two granddaughters, Stacy Pennington and Wendy Henderson.
