Loretta Burton

Funeral Services for Mrs. Loretta Williams Burton, age 75 of Cookeville, will be Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Nash Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, December 6, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Burton passed peacefully Thursday, December 4, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Loretta was born April 16, 1939 in Cookeville to the late Wilburn Loftis Williams and Lillian Edna Rice. She was an employee with Wilson Sporting Goods for more than 40 years. Loretta enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers, and she loved to dance. Loretta is survived by two sons, Jerry Wayne Burton of Baxter & Marshall Lynn (wife Donna) Burton of Cookeville; three daughters, Pamela Ann (husband Tom) Magruder of Springfield TN, Teresa Embry of Lebanon TN & Linda (husband Rick) LaFever of Cookeville; four brothers, Bill Holman (wife Marie), Harold (wife Betty) Williams, Arnold (wife Francis) Williams & Paul (wife Judy ) Williams all of Sparta TN and two sisters; Helen Leech and Pat (husband Harold) Moore both of Sparta. In addition, Mrs. Burton is survived by ten grandchildren; Kenny Mahan, Brian Burton, Danielle Fay, Justin and Andrew Magruder, Eric and Daniel Embry, Marsha Lovell, Michael Burton and Aaron Lafever. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burton was preceded in death by her husband, George Burton, and a brother; Ernie Melvin Williams. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Bro. Frank Davis will be conducting the services.
