Lorelle Flatt

Funeral services for Mrs. Mariah "Lorelle" Flatt, 94 of Baxter, will be held Wednesday May 28 at 1 p.m. in the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. John Pippin officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Flatt died Monday morning May 26, 2014 in the Courtyard Assisted Living in Oak Ridge. She was born October 22, 1919 in Baxter to the late William and Ada Dyer Crawford. She was retired from Robertson's Alterations Department with for over 37 years of service. Mrs. Flatt has been a member of Baxter Church of Christ for over 90 years. The most important parts of her life were her family, living a Christian life, and loving the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Virgil B. Flatt; brother, Lucian Crawford; and five sisters, Dewey Stanton, Floy Mahan, Lillian Gross, Willie Watts, and Lorna Coleman. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia "Ginny" and Jerry Malling of Oak Ridge; granddaughter, Catherine (Bill) Bohne of Oak Ridge and great granddaughter Violet Bohne; grandson, Christopher Jones MD of Nashville and great grandchildren, Brynn Jones, Kate Jones and Carter Jones and their mother Jackie Jones; and by several special nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Flatt's family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
