Funeral services for Mrs. Reba DeLois (Lois) Wilmoth, 79, of Cookeville will be held Sunday, August 24 at 3 pm from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Mike Campbell and Rev. Larry Self will officiate. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 pm until 8 pm and Sunday from 1 pm until 3 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Wilmoth died Wednesday August 20, 2014 at her home. She was born August 31, 1934 in Overton County, TN to the late James W. and Olyene Neely Gore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James McCoy Gore of Dayton, Ohio. Mrs. Wilmoth was a member of Trinity Assembly and actively involved with Trinity's Prime Timers until her health became an issue. She and her husband, Joe Wilmoth owned and operated several business ventures in Putnam County, TN. Mrs. Wilmoth loved her family and especially caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling especially to Israel and her favorite hobby was shopping with her girls. Lois was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joe Wilmoth (whom she married June 26, 1953 in Liberty, IN); son and daughter-in-law, Michael Joe and Sharon Wilmoth; four daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Greg Bruce, Rhonda and Dr. Sullivan Smith, Tish and John Short, Melody and Alvin Sparks, all of Cookeville; brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Pat Gore, of Dayton, OH; sister, Carol Morgan of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Joe Bradley Wilmoth (Patience), Candra Sparks (Chris), Sarah McAlpin (Chuck), Harrison Bruce, Skyler Smith, Sullivan Scott Smith, John David Short (Kristin), Jordan Short, Christopher Reed, Shaneeka West (Dre Maupins), Tia Johnson (Corey), all of Cookeville, Lacey Lapham (Ryen) of Socorro, NM, Levi Killom (Jessica) of Chattanooga, TN, Torey Killom (Cami) of Greenville, SC; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wilmoth's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Wilmoth's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cookeville Rescue Mission, 1331 S. Jefferson Avenue, Cookeville, TN 38506 or Mustard Seed Ranch 4955 Kuykendall Road, Cookeville, 38501.
