Lloyd Nash

Lloyd Nash, 78, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Lloyd was born March 30, 1941, in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Willard and Ada Bussell Nash. Lloyd was a self-employed cow buyer for over 50 years and also worked for Harry Shelton of Manchester, TN. He was known as "the best slaughter cow buyer in the Southeast" and was a friend to many farmers and loved buying and selling all types of livestock. He was an icon in the agriculture community. He loved his church, his Pastor, and loved going to church. He was a wonderful husband to his wife, Linda, the best Daddy to his two children Angie and Steve and a wonderful Pa to his four grandchildren, SaraBeth, Ben, Brett and Natalie Jo. If any of his family needed or wanted anything, he made it happen. Lloyd is survived by his loving family: wife of almost 28 years, Linda Rich Nash, whom he married June 8, 1991, in Cookeville, TN; daughter Angie (Lanny) Knight of Cookeville; son, Steve (Katherine Jo) Nash of Cookeville; grandchildren, SaraBeth Shelton of Cookeville, Ben Shelton and Kelsey Bawcombe of Atlanta, GA; Brett Nash (Mariam) of Cookeville and Natalie Jo Nash of Cookeville. In addition, brothers Albert "Bill" (Rowena) Nash of Baxter; Willard Jr. (Annetta) Nash of Baxter; sisters Freda (Harry) Todd of Tampa, FL, Leva Flatt of Baxter, Lucy (Mike) Evans of Atlanta, GA, and lots of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd. Funeral services for Lloyd will be held at 11 am Friday, April 19 at Cookeville First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, April 18 from 4 pm to 8 pm and on Friday from 9 am until service time at 11 am. Pastors Scott McKinney and Herb Leftwich will officiate. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery with food and fellowship at the church following interment. Pallbearers will be Ricky Dodson, Chanse Herron, Jeff Hickey, Troy Hickey, Jacob Key, Wade Matthew, Ross Nash and Stevie Phillips. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lloyd Nash Livestock employees: Terry Brock, Jeff Comer, Matt Delk, Joe Groce, Jeff Howell, Sam McKinney, Danny Moss and Lloyd Shaver.
