Linda Ruth Wescovich

Linda Ruth Newman Wescovich, 74 of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Mississippi.

She was born in Winnsboro, Franklin Parish, LA, to the late James Wiley and Ruth Patterson Newman on March 3, 1949. They lived in Swan TX.

Linda was baptized in Mascoutah, St Clair County, IL.

She was married to George Joseph Wescovich, Jr. (deceased) at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ocean Springs, MS. She spent most of her adult life in Ocean Springs, MS after moving frequently as a child with her father who worked for the USAF. She had three children, Ira James Wescovich, Penny Sue Wescovich (deceased) and Eli Joseph Wescovich of Ocean Springs, MS

Linda attended Jackson County Jr College and was an LPN. She loved all types of animals especially horses and dogs.

Parents both deceased are buried in Ocean Springs, MS.

Survivors include four sisters: Betty Newman Parker and Virginia Newman Lester of Fort Worth, TX, Deborah Newman of Rio Rancho, NM, and Sarah Newman of Ocean Springs, MS; and many nieces and nephews.
