Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Louise Reinard, 75 of Cookeville, will be held Monday April 7 at 6 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Dr. Martin Thielen and Rev. Drew Shelley officiating. Mrs. Reinard's family will receive friends Monday from 4 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services, along with Eastern Star Services provided by the Order of Eastern Star Olive Chapter #147 of Jonesboro, AR, will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro. Mrs. Reinard died Friday morning April 4, 2014 in Life Care Center in Sparta. She was born April 25, 1938 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Gilbert Anderson and Ruth Bonnie Clark Palmer. She was a member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church, a life-time member and former president of the Methodist Women, and a Wesley Scholar. Active for many years in Cub Scouts, she served as a District Trainer in Maryland, North Carolina, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Mrs. Reinard was the first female engineering student at Arkansas State University. She was an accomplished organist, pianist, artist and doll maker. She established and operated the Puppen Haus (German for House of Dolls) in Cookeville for many years. In 1974, she was honored as a runner-up for National Military Wife of the Year. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Kenneth L. "Ken" Reinard (whom she married July 22, 1961 in Memphis, TN); three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenny Reinard of Memphis, Andy and Donna Reinard of Baxter, and Scott and Jennifer Reinard of Eagleville, TN; and three grandchildren, Kenneth Reinard of Memphis, Solan and Braden Reinard of Baxter.
