COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Lillian Frances Sparks, 87, of Cookeville, will be held Monday, July 7, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville Cemetery. Family will receive friends today, Sunday, July 6, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Sparks died Friday, July 4, 2008, at Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born May 14, 1921, in Lafayette, to the late Jim Haddock and Ida Jent. Mrs. Sparks was a factory worker. She was a member of the Assembly of God and Grace Cathedral. She will be missed by many friends and relatives. Her family includes three daughters and two sons-in-law, Frances and Tom Patton of Castialian Springs, Ruby Gourneau, and Helen and Marshal Stallions, all of Nashville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary and Janet Sexton of Eagleville, Bobby and Joyce Sexton of Nashville and Larry Sexton of Lafayette; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sparks was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sparks; a daughter, Betty Jean Sparks; five brothers; and six sisters. Bro. Mike Madden and Tom Patton will officiate the services.
