Lillian Dalton

Funeral services for Lillian Dalton, 89 of Baxter, will be Monday, October 17 at 1 PM at Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Dalton passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born August 28, 1927 in Putnam County to the late William Rastus and Rosa Lee Clouse Massa. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters Bertha Tarkington, Willie Mae Nash, Myrtle Ezell, Betty Rose Newby and a brother Harley Massa. She was a homemaker and member of Baxter Church of Christ. She was a graduate of White County High School and Draughon's Business College. She worked in county government, starting as the secretary of the Putnam County Road Department. She then served for several years as the Executive Secretary in the Putnam County Executive's Office. She loved sewing, gardening, cooking, being with family and friends and traveling with Dalton Bus Service. Survivors include husband of 68 years James Dalton of Baxter (Married February 25, 1948 in White County, TN), daughters and sons-in-law Cathy and Ron Falconberry of LaVergne, Sarah and Bobby Lane of Algood, son and daughter-in-law Charles and Connie Dalton of Baxter, half-brother Randy (Donna) Massa of Smyrna, grandchildren: Buddy (Renata) Dalton of Cincinnati, OH, Jenny (Josh) Stites of Nashville, Brent (Laura) Dalton of Leavenworth, KS, Jesse (Kelly) Dalton of Columbus, IND., Joseph Falconberry of Nashville, Luke Falconberry of LaVergne, Holly (Mike) Freeman of Nashville, David (Kelsey) Lane and Austin Lane all of Algood, great-grandchildren: Sofia and Enzo Dalton, Jack and Annie Stites, Molly Dalton, Anna Claire Dalton, Charlie Lane. Bobby Lane and Randy Massa will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 8 PM and Monday from 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.
