Lillian Crawford

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Bockman Crawford, 96 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, July 24 at 11am at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Ernest Robertson and Rev. Larry Wilmoth will officiate. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mrs. Crawford's family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm and again Thursday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Crawford passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born July 24, 1917 in Double Springs to the late Bertie Orlanda Bockman and Maggie Pendergrass Bockman. Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Double Springs Presbyterian Church and a former longtime member of the Union Grove Presbyterian Church. She worked as an associate of Wilson Sporting Goods. She also was a longtime ‘classroom grandmother' to students at Baxter Elementary School, where her late husband, Ben Hooper Crawford, served as Principal. She later enjoyed participating in Senior Olympics winning many awards in table tennis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Hooper Crawford; daughter, Joan Crawford Davis; sister, Vivian Pearl Bockman Gentry; and by her brother, Carl Bockman. She is survived by her son, Nick Crawford of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Melinda Lee Crawford, Benjamin West Crawford, Kenneth Scott Davis and Donna Lynn Forsythe; and by four great grandchildren, Rebeka Joann Hicks, Charles Hugh Mitchell, Justin Moore Mitchell and Cayden Keith Crawford. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
