Lena Booher

Graveside services for Ms. Lena Booher, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, March 12th at 1 p.m. at Cookeville City Cemetery. Rev. James Rawls will officiate. Ms. Booher died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born October 11, 1933 in Overton County, TN to the late John Albert and Cecilia Delphia Andrews Glasscock. She attended school in Overton County before moving to Dayton, Ohio at age 16. Lena was an active and vibrant lady with a strong work ethic. She was employed at National Cash Register for many years and later at a machine shop, both in Dayton. After retiring in Dayton, she moved to Port Charlotte, FL for four years before moving back to Cookeville in Dec. 2003. She worked at Kohl's Department Store in Cookeville for 10 years before retiring again at the age of 80. Her cheerful and outgoing nature endeared her to her many friends. She loved to travel and had visited 47 states in the USA. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Glasscock; sister, Melba Bennett; and by half-brothers, Dewroy Neal and Jimmy Neal. She is survived by three step-children, Wanda Caplinger, Chip Booher and Susan Booher; five-step grandchildren, Tony Allen, Kevin Allen, Rodney Allen, Kyle Caplinger and Andrew Caplinger; six step-grandchildren; half-brother, Paul Neal of Lebanon and half-sister, Judy Wilson of Livingston; and by special nieces and nephews, Judy Wharton, Billy Glasscock, Kim Glasscock, Patricia Huddleston, Lisa Looper, Tony Bennett and Dale Bennett. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
