Leesa Montandon

September 29, 1975 — July 25, 2022

Leesa Beth Gessner Montandon, age 46 of Cookeville, passed away suddenly Monday July 25, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Services will be planned for a later date. Leesa was born September 29, 1975 in Warren, OH to the late George and Linda Krug Gessner. She graduated Lakeview High School in Cortland OH in 1994. She graduated Tennessee Tech University in 2001 with a Bachelor’s of Science in History with a minor in English. Leesa was a true free spirit and lived the life that made her happy. She had a deep love for the arts that she expressed through painting, jewelry making, writing and art shows that she put on in the community with the support of her dear friend Rhyan McReynolds. She was made happy in life by the smallest things like beautiful cut flowers from her garden in a vase and puppy kisses from her fur babies. She was kind and compassionate. So much so that she would have adopted every dog in a 100 mile radius if possible. She is survived by her husband, Michael Montandon and Izzy and Lulu (rescue dogs); sister, Jenna (Aaron) Polak their kids Payton and Grayson of Hudson, OH; nieces, Ashton O’Brien of Masury, OH, and Keshia Blaylock of Spencer, TN; nephew, Luke Montandon of Minot, ND; aunt, Karen Meadows of Ballground, GA; and several cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter, 2650 Gainesboro Grade, Cookeville, TN, 38501. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111 Share your thoughts and condolences at www.hhhfunerals.com.
