Leanna Apuzzo

Funeral services for Leanna Apuzzo, 40 of Cookeville will be Tuesday, June 16 at 6 p.m. at Life Church, 2223 North Washington Avenue, Cookeville, TN with Pastor David Corley officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Apuzzo died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born February 13, 1975 in Nashville to the late Larry and Barbara Raines Ritchie. She was a graduate of Scott County, TN High School and Tennessee Tech University. She and her husband were long-time members of Poplar Grove Baptist Church and were currently attending Life Church. She taught second grade previously at Parkview Elementary School and currently was with Baxter Elementary School. She truly loved her students, she loved kids. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Danny Ray Ritchie. Survivors include husband David Louis Apuzzo, Jr. of Cookeville (married September 17, 2011 in Putnam County), daughter Hope Keeton, sons Seth Keeton and Zachary Apuzzo, step-daughter Natalie Apouzzo, step-son Tyler Apuzzo, sister and brother-in-law Naomi and Angel Colon of Lebanon, OH, brother Marlin Ritchie of Amarillo, TX, father and mother-in-law David Sr. and Betty Diane Apuzzo of Dyersburg, TN, brother-in-law Daniel Apuzzo of Cookeville, sister-in-law Lori Norris of Franklin, TN, nieces and nephews: Alexis Colon, Alyssa Colon, Adres Colon, Ashley Clein, Skylor Alford, Austin Ritchie, Trent Norris, Jade Apuzzo, all Putnam County children she taught and helped with. Active pallbearers will be Nick Crabtree, Trent Norris, Angel Colon, Bryan Cook, Jim Allen, Shawn Billingsley and Bill Carroll.
