Funeral services for Mrs. Leah Mae Slagle Carr, 83, of Livingston, will be held Friday March 20th at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Griner will officiate. Burial will follow in Stone Seminary Cemetery. Mrs. Carr's family will receive friends Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8p.m. and again Friday from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. She was born May 10, 1931 in Wayne Co. KY to the late George Washington and Bonnie Pearl Neal Fulton. She went to be with the Lord Monday, March 16, 2015 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She and her late husband Oliver Haskell helped with the founding of Bangham Heights Baptist Church. She loved reading her Bible and going to church at Bangham and later in Livingston. Her family was very important to her and she loved them so much. She was also dearly loved by her special ‘soul' friends and neighbors, Mary Roop and her daughters Kathy Smith and Diane Lee; Susie Smith, Jr Conner (who often took the friends to church), and Treva. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Oliver Haskell Slagle; her husband of 12 years, Clyde Carr; brothers, James and Ernest Fulton; and by grandchildren, Sharon Marie Slagle and Alan Odel Thompson. She is survived by her son, Glenn Slagle; two daughters, Brenda (Mike) Wilborn all of Cookeville and Shirley (Carl) Riley of Overton Co.; grandchildren, Joseph (Erica) Slagle, Eric (Tonia) Bilbrey, Eddie (and friend Tamara) Pharris Jr., Michael Wilorn Jr., Kristi Tayes, Eric (Kim) Fox, Glenn (Threasa) Riley and Kevin (Donna) Reeder; great grandchildren, Tyler Slagle Mason and Emma Tayes, Dakota (Ciar) Pharris, Taylor Pharris, Cadence Slagle, Levi and Wade Fox, Brittany (Mat) Thompson Taylor, Arah and Hannah Riley, Jearmie, Colby and Rachel Reeder; great great-grandchildren, Waylin and Alexus Thompson and Liam Pharris; brother, Floyd (Jan) Fulton of Indiana, and by sisters, Lula Horn of Mississippi, Billie (Junior) Swallows, Gerdine Loftis, Eva (Harlon) Loftis and Georgia (J.B.) Fulton, all of Cookeville. Her grandsons Mason Tayes, Dakota Pharris, Joseph and Tyler Slagle and other family members will serve as pallbearers.
