COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for L. D. Holloway, 90, of Cookeville will be Sunday, October 15 at 1 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Bro. Nolan Cantrell and Bro. Charles Todd will officiate. Mr. Holloway died Wednesday Night, October 11, 2017 at his daughter's home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 19, 1926 in Putnam County to the late Garfield and Martha Scarborough Holloway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Evelyn Lee Holloway on January 16, 2017, son and daughter-in-law Roger Dale and Sue Holloway, great-grandson James Paul Holloway, sisters Betty Rice and Thelma Foister, brothers Bethel, Clyde and J.T. Holloway, brothers and sisters-in-law: Bennie and Alene Roberson, Dock Lee, Leonard and Juanita McCloud. He was owner/operator and carpenter with Holloway Construction Company of Cookeville for over 40 years. He also owned two welding shops, and through a job training program he taught a welding class at Cookeville High School and Tennessee Tech University. He also enjoyed farming. He was a member of and served as deacon at Rocky Point Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter Wilma Brown of Algood, sons and daughters-in-law Freddie and Janet Holloway of Algood, Eddie and Kim Holloway of Cookeville, grandchildren: Kevin (Lisa) Holloway, Jennifer (Mark) Flatt, Kim (Kenny) Dyer, James Holloway, Jason Holloway, Lindsay (Hethe) Dyer, Levi (Holly) Holloway, Crystal (Daniel) Odom, Niki Shoulders, great-grandchildren: Josh, Dillard, Melissa, Jesse, Matthew, MaKayla, Zach and Emilee, Max and Sadie, Randi, Ashley, Davie May, Quinn, Millie Grace, Olivia and Allison, great-great-grandchildren: Campbell, Scarlett, Karley, Lilly, Aria and Rylan. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Sunday at the funeral home.
