Funeral services for Andrew Kyle Carpenter, age 81, of Cookeville will be held on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at 1 pm in the Cookeville chapel of the Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Gaw officiating. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Monday, September 4th, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm and Tuesday, September 5th at 12pm directly preceding services, both at the funeral home.

Kyle passed away Friday, September 1st, 2023 at his home in Cookeville, Tennessee following brief illness.

Kyle was born Friday, September 12, 1941 in Clouds Creek in Hawkins County, Tennessee to Johnny Chris Carpenter and Maggie Sue Harrell Carpenter. The pride and joy of his life was his close-knit family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and worked multiple facets of construction for over 50 years. He retired from Stewart Perry Construction Company after working alongside his son and as superintendent. He and his wife Wanda of 61 years were proud members of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by son, Vince Carpenter, father, Johnny Carpenter, mother Maggie Carpenter, and sisters Christine Young and Juanita Helton.

He is survived by wife, Wanda Cosson Carpenter of Cookeville, daughter Renee’ Carpenter, of Nashville, granddaughters Katherine Trubee of Knoxville, Mahala Carpenter of Cookeville, Alexa Carpenter of Cookeville, daughter-in-law, Kelly Carpenter, brothers, Claude Carpenter, Ray Carpenter (wife Angie), sister, Linda Livesay (husband Shelton), and multiple nieces and nephews.
