Steven Kurt Craig, 33, of Cookeville, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 19, 2020. He was born on January 12, 1987 in Lebanon, TN. He graduated from Smith County High School and studied at Tennessee Tech University and Volunteer State Community College. He was an 11 year veteran of the Cookeville Fire Department, where he served as a Reserve/Engineer, EMT, and First Responder. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Emily Suzanne Craig, and beloved children Maizie Elizabeth Craig, Aaliyah Grace Crouch and Evan Eugene Neafus. He is also survived by mother, Melanie Sircy (Jackie) of Elmwood, TN and father, Steve Craig (Tina) and brother, Austin Craig of all Hiwassee, TN. Surviving grandparents are Billy and Elizabeth Thomas of Turkey Creek Community in Smith County, TN, and Jean Craig of Rome, TN. He is survived by many other relatives, cousins, and his Cookeville Fire Department family. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Ray Craig; paternal great-grandparents, William and Elizabeth Craig, Gordon and Mary Winfree. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday June 26 at Life Church. DJ Sons and Anthony Dixon will officiate. Friends are invited to come by the church to sign the guest book and pay their respects on Thursday from 3 - 8 p.m. and again Friday from 10 - 11 a.m at the church. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. Pallbearers will be members of the Cookeville Fire Department A Shift. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Fire Department and Emergency Services communities. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
