Funeral Services for Kristie Dawn Mathews, age 42, of Walling, TN. will be Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the West Cemetery in Cookeville. Mrs. Mathews passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was born April 20, 1972 in Cookeville, TN. to Carl Eddie Jared and Linda Carter Jared. Kristie loved hunting, camping, playing corn hole and being outdoors. She cherished time spent with friends and family where they often gathered at a place known as Hoodlumville in the Walling community. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. She was also an excellent cook. Kristie was an employee with the 1st. National Bank in Sparta, TN. Kristie is survived by her parents, Carl and Linda Jared of Sparta, one daughter, Sienna Alexis Mathews of Sparta; one son, Cody Edward Mathews of Sparta; one stepson, Kyle Reed of Walling; fiance’ Joseph David Reed of Walling, one sister, Jamie French of Cookeville. She is also survived by her best friend Kenya Morris. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Albert & O’dell Jared and Simmons and Gladys Carter. Pallbearers will be Dallas Lusk, B.J. Roberts, Sammy Young, Chase Halliburton, Jake Morris and Newman Ford. Bro. Jerry Womack will officiate the service.
