Koleta Pearson

Sibyl Koleta Pearson, known affectionately as Koleta by her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023, at Bethesda Health Care in Cookeville, TN. Born on May 19, 1948, in the Dry Hollow Community of Overton County, TN, Koleta lived a life marked by kindness, love, and unwavering faith.

The daughter of the late Guy Wilson Qualls and Juanita Blaylock Qualls, Koleta was a beacon of light to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Thomas Pearson, and her sister, Evelyn Ruth Qualls. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Darlene Conatser Wilson; step-son, John Pearson; grandchildren, Michael (Jaime) Pearson and Allyson (Jeff) Wright; step-grandson, Bake Pearson, and great-grandchildren, Abbey and Max Wright, Cadeon and Phoenix Pearson.

Koleta dedicated many years of service to Red Kap and Adams USA in Cookeville, where her strong work ethic and warm personality were well-regarded by her colleagues. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her devotion to her family and her faith.

A good Christian woman, Koleta was a devoted member of Pleasant Ridge Church. She found great joy in her faith and was an example of Christian love and charity to all who knew her.

Those who knew Koleta would describe her as loving and kind, words that only begin to capture the essence of her gentle spirit. Her ability to make each person she met feel valued and loved was one of her most remarkable traits.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday December 15 at Pleasant Ridge Church. Rev. Brett Gibbons will officiate. Her family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
