Funeral Services for Kirk D. Meehan, 51 of Cookeville will be held Thursday, August 4, at 1 P.M. from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mr. Meehan died suddenly Friday, July 29, 2011 in the Emergency Room of Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 12, 1959 in Port Jervis, New York to the late William and Inez Mae Hocker Meehan. Heaven receieved another angel with the passing of Kirk. He had a heart of gold and deeply loved his family and friends. He was a friend and a soul-mate to his wife; as well as an inspiration, friend, and provider to his children: and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. He was a life member of the Lumberland Fire Dept., Veteran of US Army Reserves, former Chief of Lumberland Constabulary, former leader and committee member of Cub Scout Pack 102 in Lumberland, N.Y. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Cookeville. Survivors include wife of 31 years Bettie Sobolewski Meehan (whom he married May 25, 1980 in Yulan, NY); daughter & son-in-law Jessica & Thomas Golding of Cookeville, son & daughter-in-law Bryan & Lindsey Meehan of Poughkeepsie, NY, sister & brother-in-law Theresa & Ken Vandermark of Rockhill, NY; grandchildren, Thomas Golding and "Baby"� Meehan; three brothers & sisters-in-law Patrick & Michele Meehan of Hyde Park, NY, Thomas & Sharon Meehan of Sparta, Tn., David & Patricia Meehan of Bumpass, VA; several uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces & cousins. Rev. Monica Mowdy will officiate. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. and after 10 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Cub Scout Pack #651 %Jill Myers 2729 Churchill Dr. Cookeville, Tn. 38506. Family & Friends will serve as pallbearers.
