COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Kimberly Kay Payne, a beacon of light and an embodiment of selflessness, departed this world on November 13, 2024, after courageously battling cancer for four and a half years. Born on May 7, 1963, in, Sacramento, California, Kimberly's journey through life was by a profound faith in God, unwavering love for her family, and an innate kindness that drew people to her beautiful heart and personality.
Kimberly's spirit was indomitable, a testament to her positive outlook on life even in the face of adversity. She never complained about her illness, displaying extreme grace and strength that inspired all who knew & met her. A devoted Christian, Kimberly was an active member of the Washington Avenue Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family and found joy in serving others.
Her life revolved around her loved ones, and she held deep pride in her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Christopher Payne, and her sons, Corey Wallace and his wife Amber, and Tyler Wallace, who is engaged to Samantha Devera. Her two step children Sophia Marie Payne and Stephen Langdon Francis. Grandchildren Jaxson Wallace, Jeremiah and Ezra Devera, brought her immense joy, and she was eagerly anticipating the arrival of another granddaughter, Hope Kimberly Wallace. Her two sisters, Rhonda Reynolds and Linda Riley, will continue to honor her memory as they carry forward the love and values she instilled in them.
Kimberly’s nurturing nature extended beyond her own family; she was fiercely passionate about caring for and sheltering animals, embodying compassion in every facet of her life.
Faithful to God and her friends, Kimberly’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and devotion. She cherished her parents, Lindy Reynolds and Barbara Bush Reynolds, who have passed, along with her infant brother, Lindy "Tyrone" Reynolds, all of whom she holds dearly in her heart.
A graveside service to celebrate Kimberly’s life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Dodson Branch Cemetery in Cookeville, Tennessee, beginning at 10:00 am. Those who gathered around her in life are encouraged to come together in remembrance of the extraordinary woman she was-a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a cherished grandmother, and a friend to many.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the light that Kimberly Kay Payne brought to our lives will continue to shine brightly in our hearts forever.
