Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Kathryn ‘Kathy' Gardenhire, age 75 of Algood, will be held Thursday, September 15th at 1 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Robert Gardenhire will officiate. Interment will follow in the Gardenhire Cemetery in Rickman. Mrs. Gardenhire's family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. She died Monday, September 12, 2016 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born April 16, 1941 in White County, TN to the late Pearson and Della Cope, Kathy was a graduate of White County High School and was an employee at the Sparta Shirt Factory following graduation. Kathy became a pattern designer for the textile industry and was the owner of a clothing design company. She was a kind hearted and very giving person. She was also a gifted conversationalist who loved connecting with her friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert L. Moore. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Walter Gardenhire; mother-in-law, Kirkalene Gardenhire, Nashville, TN; brother-in-law, Robert (Vanessa) Gardenhire, Nashville; and two sisters-in -law, Myra (Roddna) Rockymore, Stockbridge, GA and Donna (Thomas Jr.) Gill, Nashville, TN.
