Karen Denise Cravens

A Memorial Service for Karen “Denise” Cravens, age 47, was held on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at the Doyle United Methodist Church. The family received friends following the Service at the church. Ms. Cravens passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born October 28, 1962 in Putnam County to Savannah F. Allen and the late Henry Cordell Buhl. Denise was a Master Barber and had worked at Doots Family Hair. She had also worked at Fabulous Fred’s in Cookeville. Her family includes five children: Franklin Argo Austin and wife Brooke, Jame’ Cordell Austin, Miranda O'Dell and husband Scott all of Sparta, Natalie Blair and husband Gabriel of Monterey, and Zona Austin and fiance Nick Harvey of Cookeville. She is also survived by three brothers; Roger Buhl and fiance Bonnie Maynard of Gainesboro, Kenny Buhl and wife Sydni of Baxter, and William Buhl and wife Nichole of Dodson Branch; and one sister, Darcy Rowe and husband Dan of Fairview TN. Ms. Cravens also enjoyed seven grandchildren: Maddie Austin; Caitlyn, Ryan and Callie O'Dell; Philip Blair; Brooklynn and Dayton Harvey. Denise had two very special friends, Robert Cravens and Doug Rosinski. She also had too many friends to mention all, and a host of nieces, nephews and family. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Cordell Buhl. Bro. John Murphy officiated at the services.
