Kacy Mapes

Ms. Kacy Marie Mapes, age 27 of Cookeville, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 25, 2020. The family will hold a celebration of life on a future date. She was born Saturday, November 21, 1992 in Cookeville, TN to Michael Brinkley and Lori Veres Mapes. Kacy attended junior high school in Cookeville and high school in Maynardville, TN. Afterwards, she worked in the retail industry. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her sons, Jariya and Jakobe Schaefer. She loved animals and enjoyed listening to music and dancing. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jessie Mapes, and a grandmother, Sherrie Brinkley. In addition to her children and parents, she is survived by her children's father, Joshua Schaefer of Cookeville; step-mother, Libby Brinkley of Maynardville; and step-father, Jerry Kolbe of Algood; brothers, Josh Brinkley of Livingston, Jacob (Brittney) Brinkley of Livingston, John Brinkley of Cookeville, Jaren Brinkley of Sparta, and Matthew Perkins of Cinton, TN; sisters, Jara-Lee Brinkley of Maynardville, TN, Heather (Michael) Julian of Maynardville, TN, Kenzyanne Gubics (Jimmy) of Cookeville, and Kennedy (Kevin) Bragg of Maynardville, TN; as well as many nieces and nephews.
