Julia Wiggins

Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Stanton Wiggins, age 92 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday August 29 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Rev. Whitney Mitchell and Rev. Jim Rogers will officiate. Mrs. Wiggins family will receive friends Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Wiggins died suddenly Saturday afternoon August 22, 2015 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 24, 1922 in Cookeville to the late Layton Ferrell and Floriene Cornwell Stanton. She was a member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church where she was active in the Stitch and Knitting Group. She was an avid reader and a member of the Book Lovers Club and Four Season's Garden Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Retired U. S. Navy Commander Bryan Wiggins; daughter, Lisa Camille Wiggins; and brother, Layton Ferrell Stanton Jr. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Rory Wiggins of La Mesa, CA, and Madison and Cathy Wiggins of Poway, CA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Willard Seehorn of Cary, NC, Julia and Greg Galemore of Punta Gorda, FL, and Tricia and Lance Dunbar of Elizabeth, IN; three grandchildren, Susanna Wiggins, Sarah Elizabeth (William Brent) Wilson, and Gregory Douglas Galemore; two great grandchildren, William (Liam) Stanton Wilson and Zola (Zoe) Elizabeth Wilson; and brother, William Stanton. Pallbearers will be Danny Kilpatrick, Garland Stanton, Jarvis Matheny, Frank Bulow, Dan Maxwell, and Rankin Bennett. Memorial contributions may be made to The Food Pantry at Cookeville First United Methodist Church 165 E. Broad St. Cookeville, TN 38501 or to the charity of your choice.
