Julia "Julie" Marie Petzko

Julia "Julie" Marie Petzko, age 83 of Cookeville, passed away Thursday February 16, 2023 at Smith County Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born July 3, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Harry Wessell and Julia O'Toole Wessell.

Julie was a talented artist and drew many portraits of family and friends. She was also an experienced editor and proofreader. Later in life she returned to college and became a paralegal for a prominent law firm in NJ. She moved to TN to be close to her granddaughters.

She is survived by two children, Patrick Petzko and Dina (Eric) Smith; grandchildren, Juliette and Annabelle Smith, all of Cookeville; brother, Harold (Lisa) Wessell of Rock City Falls, NY; and sister, Lillian (Hilton) Ashby of Russellville, KY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Boeckman.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday February 25 at First Presbyterian Church, Cookeville. Rev. Michael McLaughlin will officiate.
