Judy Wilson

d. September 17, 2014

Memorial services for Judy Elaine Wilson, 65, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday September 27 from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Wilson went to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, September 17, 2014, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center, with her husband and sons by her side. She was born February 10, 1949 in Lebanon, TN, to the late Haskell and Helen Winfree Lynch. She grew up in the Brush Creek/New Middleton/Gordonsville area of Smith County and graduated from Gordonsville High School in 1967. Mrs. Wilson was a retired insurance agent, having worked many years with her wonderful friends at Fields Insurance in Cookeville. In her past, she had also worked in insurance with Bank of Putnam County and Harold Jackson Insurance. She also worked as church secretary at Stevens Street Baptist Church for a number of years. However, her favorite "job" was that of being "Nanny" to her six grandchildren, whom she loved passionately. She also enjoyed warm summer evening cruises with her husband in their antique MGB, flower gardening, reading, doing puzzles on chilly winter evenings, and lovingly cooking for her family. She seldom met a stranger, and loved talking to people. She will be terribly missed by her family and all who know her. Her family includes her husband of 42 years, Chuck Wilson of Cookeville; a daughter, Allison Bevelheimer of Huntsville, AL; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Lee Wilson of Elmwood, TN and Andy Wilson of Cookeville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jeff and Debra Wilson of Cookeville, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Sandi Randolph of Algood; mother-in-law, Plina Wilson of Cookeville, and her precious grandchildren, Ashley, Ethan, Hailey, Gavin, Emmett and Honey Wilson. In addition to her parents, grandparents and father-in-law, she was preceded in death by a beloved daughter-in-law Jessica (Jessi) Thatcher Wilson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Heart of the Cumberland, or a charity of choice.
