COOKEVILLE CHAPEL-Judy Laulo, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 25, 2025. Born on September 30, 1972, in Denver, Colorado, Judy lived a life brimming with passion, kindness, and a remarkable ability to connect with others.
From a young age, Judy's determination shone brightly. She began playing the piano at the tender age of five and continued to nurture her musical talent throughout her life. Her family moved to Arizona, where she thrived in high school, earning recognition as an all-state musician in choir and piano. Judy graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, where she played piano for the men's choral group, showcasing both her musical talent and her collaborative spirit.
Judy's commitment to helping others extended beyond music. For the past 10 years, she proudly served as a hospice care social worker, providing invaluable support to patients and their families. Her compassion and dedication earned her the Cookeville Regional Medical Center Charitable Foundation's Sheep Dog Award, a testament to her profound impact on those around her. Judy instilled a biblical worldview in her four daughters, nurturing their spirits and guiding them with her unwavering love.

People were drawn to her remarkable sense of humor and genuine presence, which could lighten even the heaviest of hearts. Whether through her music, compassionate care, or comforting words and storytelling, Judy had an extraordinary ability to uplift those around her.
Throughout her life, Judy shared countless adventures with her husband of 32 years, Rodney Laulo. Together, they embraced moves that took them from Flagstaff to Seattle, Sunnyvale, California, and Chandler, Arizona, before finding their way to her family roots in Cookeville in 2006. Her musical journey intertwined with her dedication to her community, exemplified by her role as a pianist for the Cookeville Mastersingers and the Cookeville Children's Theatre where she served as music director for several productions.
