Juanita Baker

Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Sue Baker, age 87, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24 at Dyer Funeral Home with Bro Jeremiah Tatum and Bro. Clarence Deloach officiating. Interment will follow at the Palmer Cemetery in Silver Point, TN. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 - 8 pm and again Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Baker departed from this earthly life and went to her eternal home in Heaven on Saturday evening, August 20, 2016 at Overton County Nursing Home in Livingston. She was born December 24, 1928 in Silver Point, TN to the late Abner Monroe and Mary Ellen Waddell Palmer of Silver Point. Juanita was a homemaker most of her life, taking care of her loving family. She was a faithful member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ. In addition her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Earl M. Baker; four brothers, George, Charles, Arnold, and Bailey Palmer; and six sisters, Evergreen Anderson, Dolly Martin, Nell Shanks, Arlie Lafever, Emma Neville, Wilma Thomas, and Creola Lewis. Juanita is survived by her loving family, one sister, Gertrude (Denny) Stewart of Cookeville; two sons, Doug (Linda) Baker of Cordova, TN, Earl Baker Jr. and Debbie Jackson of Baxter; five grandchildren, Chris Baker, Brittany Phillips, Andy Baker, Ashley Sims, and Lindsey Baker; 14 great-grandchildren, Christine, Kenzie, Madison, Bentley, Aaron, Addie, Harper, Tristen, Emlynn, Mason, Aden, Colten, Kasie, and Codie. Pallbearers will be Andy Baker, Chris Baker, Barry Sims, John Phillips, Charles Bean and Kevin Ashburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Palmer and Dennis Thomas.
