Funeral services for Mr. Juan Albert Chapman, age 83 of Algood will be held Wednesday October 31 at 1 p.m. in the Algood Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Flatt and Bro. Doyle Wilmoth officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Mr. Chapman died Sunday evening October 28, 2012 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 22, 1929 in Miami, FL to the late Edward Carmack and Grace Viola Coppage Chapman. Mr. Chapman was a faithful member of Algood Church of Christ for over 55 years. He graduated from Cohn High in Nashville; received his B S Degree from Tennessee Tech University; and his Master"�s Degree in Marketing from UT-Knoxville. He devoted his life to teaching and coaching, always willing to help young people obtain their goals. He served in the Putnam County School System for over 30 years. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran proudly serving his country with distinction before and during the Korean Conflict. He was also active in community and civic affairs. He was a long-time member of the Algood Jaycees; member and past-president of Algood Lions Club; and served on the former Putnam County Quarterly Court. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Clint Chapman and sister, Thyra Redman. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marie Raines Chapman (whom he married June 8, 1957 at Collegeside Church of Christ in Cookeville); daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Buck Fowler of Algood. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mr. Chapman"�s family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
