Joyce Scott Williamson Cookeville Funeral services for Joyce Scott Williamson, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 10 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Williamson passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at her home at the age of 80. She was the daughter of the late Virgil & Bessie Mae (Baumgardner) Scott of Trezevant, TN. She was predeceased in death by her husband Charles D. Williamson on November 7, 2016, of 62 years. Mrs. Williamson was a loving, true-hearted minister's wife and she always exhibited her gift of hospitality. Joyce & Charles served several churches in Tennessee including Yorkville, Elizabethton, Jackson, Dresden, Lewisburg & and also served in Tupelo, Mississippi, before returning and retiring in Cookeville in 2007. Mrs. Williamson made a Godly home wherever they were. She and Charles also shared the love for people around the world which led them to make numerous mission campaigns in Bermuda, Russia, the Ukraine, and most recently to Dominica. She also accompanied Charles on several trips to Israel and the Mid-East. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was such a generous, servant-hearted example to everyone she knew. Her family was her greatest treasure and she served them all selflessly. Known for her love for people, she will best be remembered as a devoted wife, as a loving mother and grandmother, and perfect example of the Proverbs 31 woman, living a life dedicated to the Lord, and as a Godly example for generations to come. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Linda D'Amico and her husband Dan, of Frisco TX, Ms. Carol Hart of Cookeville, and Mrs. Susan Garrison and her husband Scott of Lyman SC; and two brothers: Mr. Halbert Ray Scott and his wife Susan, of Houston, TX and Mr. Daniel Gene Scott and his wife Latayne of Albuquerque, NM. Surviving also are seven grandchildren: Angela & Shelby Hart, Austin Tate, Logan Tate & wife Katie and Whitney Lewis & husband Grant; four step-grandchildren: Josh Garrison & wife Sydney and Zach Garrison & wife Ashley; two great-granddaughters: Raelee Ann and Cadence Sinclair Lewis; one great-grandson: William Graham Hart and three step-granddaughters: Nataleigh Smith, Blakely Perdue, and Raylie Garrison. She was predeceased by one son-in-law, Mr. William Ron Hart of Lewisburg. Dan D'Amico, Scott Garrison, Austin Tate, Logan Tate, Pat Fitzpatrick and Randy Chaffin will serve as pallbearers. Brother Buddy Johnson of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ will officiate.
