Joyce Leftwich

Funeral services for Frances Joyce Leftwich, 85 of Baxter will be Friday, Aug. 1 at 1 P.M. at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Leftwich Cemetery. Bro. Bill Cowan will officiate. Mrs. Leftwich died early Wednesday morning, July 30, 2014 at her home. She was born December 19, 1928 in DeKalb County to the late Tim Bob and Lassie Huddleston Helm. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Leftwich on April 8, 2006, daughters-in-law Anita Leftwich and Diane Leftwich, sister Kate Maxwell, brother F.D. Helm. She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. She was a member of the Putnam County Home Demonstration Club and was also 1995 Putnam County Rook Champion. She loved traveling , gardening and reading. Her favorite vacation spot was Myrtle Beach. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Sharon & Shields Griggs of Cookeville, Gail & Dale Myers of Baxter, three sons and a daughter-in-law Herb & Lavinia Leftwich of Baxter, Larry Leftwich of Baxter, Ken Leftwich of Northville,Mi., one sister and brother-in-law Carmel and James Boles of Brush Creek, Tn., one brother & sister-in-law Jack & Keeble Helm of Silver Point, grandchildren: Melanie Nabors, Ken , Marty, Luke, Kale, Jake and Matthew Leftwich, Tiffanie Wright, Amber Griggs, Whitney Maxwell and Celeste Kemp, great-grandchildren: Katelin and Samuel Harness, Claire and Colton Maxwell, Riley, Hunter, Fischer, Bren, Holland and Ryjker Leftwich and Spencer Nabors. Family will receive friends at Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. and Friday from 11 A.M. till service time at the church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
