Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Faye Hood, age 63, of Cookeville will be Friday, September 2, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at the Brotherton Cemetery. Joyce passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011 at her home and surrounded by her family. She was born December 29, 1947 in Putman County, to the late Evert Spears and Mildred Thomas Spears. She worked for many years at the Norwalk Furniture Company and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Hood is survived by her husband David Lee Hood; three daughters, Lecia Ann (Stanley) Gantt of Cookeville, Paula Lynn Livingston (Greg) of Rickman, Glenda Faye Hunter (Billy) of Cookeville, and one son David Paul Jared (Leona) of Smithville. She is also survived by four granddaughters; Lindsay D. Null (Steve), Megan Knight, Tonya Portilla (Joey) and Jamie Hunter; as well as seven grandsons, Brandon Todd Nabors, Andrew Gantt, Jerry Jared, Trey Petty Jared, David Livingston, Jerry Livingston and Brian Livingston. Joyce leaves behind eight great grandchildren; Jared, Jayce and Jaxton Portilla, Braden Jared, Chloe, Sarah and Brady Livingston and Allie Nabors; and one sister Willodene Hargis (Claude) of Cookeville and one brother Charles E. Spears (Elna) of Winchester TN. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amber Nichole Jared and one son-in-law, Gregory Nabors. Bro. Estell Bilbrey and Bro. Mike Adams will officiate the services.
