Funeral services for Joshua Frank Cartwright, 38, of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Algood Heritage Cemetery. His family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In the year 1983, God blessed Mr. and Mrs. John Douglas Cartwright, Sr. with a beautiful baby boy, named Joshua Frank Cartwright. At an extended time of illness, on Friday, May 13 at 5:00 am, Joshua Frank turned his life over to God, gave up his ghost on this planet called Earth, and went home to be with the Lord. Joshua Frank gave his heart to Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized. He attended elementary school in Algood and high school at Cookeville High. He was preceded in death by his father John Douglas Cartwright, Sr.; grandfather, Richard Gist, grandparents, James and Ruby Neal Jeragin, grandfather William Frank Cartwright, great-grandmother, Lee Mitt Hill uncles, David Gist, William Floyd Cartwright, William Barnett, and Mackie Cullom, and aunts, Virginia Click and Margrett Hurt. He is survived by his mother, Mai Cartwright of Cookeville, grandmother, Joyce Gist of Algood, brothers, John Douglas (Crystal) Cartwright and Ricky (Amanda) Cartwright of Cookeville, uncles, Sammy (Paula) Gist, Wayne and Ray Cartwright, James (Victoria) Gist, Johnny (Judy) Cullom, aunts, Wilma, Darlene, Mary Alice McClellan, Juanita Paige, and Christine Hayes and Brenda Cullom and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including devoted friends, Melinda Wilson, Brian Pirtle and Tiffany Dyer. Pallbearers will be Brandon Gist, Shannon Gist, David Gist Jr., David Gist, Austin Bailey, Reese Owens and Charles Gist Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Lewis, Johnny Cullom, Jason Bohannan and Chopper.
