Joseph Shaunessy

Graveside services and interment for Joseph "Joey" Paul Shaunessy, 46 of Cookeville, will be Monday, September 13 at 10 am at Salem Cemetery, 1021 Salem Church Road, Cookeville, TN. Family will receive friends at the cemetery following services. Pastor Mike Campbell will officiate. Mr. Shaunessy died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 16, 1974 in Paterson, New Jersey to Carol J. Shaunessy of Cookeville. Joey never let his disabilities deter him. He worked as a cook at Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell in Alabama. Upon returning to Cookeville, he volunteered at First United Methodist Church in the Food Pantry. He made friends and helped people wherever he went. He remembered everyone's name at the grocery and the library. Survivors in addition to his mother include a daughter, Angela Shaunessy; granddaughter, Evelyn DeNeve; sister, Lisa Mae Shaunessy of Cookeville; and brother, Edward John Shaunessy of Alabama.
