Joseph John Kunkel

Mr. Joseph John Kunkel, age 51, of Cookeville passed away at his home and surrounded by his loving family on Monday evening, December 1, 2014. Mr. Kunkel was born February 13, 1963 in Chicago, IL to Charlotte Dreyer Kunkel and the late Joseph Kunkel. Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Christiane Onofrio Kunkel, and five children; Dawn Gall (husband Joseph) of Griffith IN, Megan Kunkel of Hobart, IN, Samantha Kunkel of Hobart, IN, Damien Kunkel of Cookeville, TN, and Hailee Kunkel, also of Cookeville. Mr. Kunkel is also survived by his mother, Charlotte Kunkel, and twelve grandchildren; Anthony, Britney, Junie, and Jasmine Gutierrez, Nicole and Hannah Alt, Jersey Szybala, Serenity Lee, Tylor, Brooklyn and Jayden Majka. He is also survived by five sisters; Mary Parrott of Hilham TN, Cheryl Parrott Etheridge of Burkesville, KY, Barbara Bajovich (husband Nick) of Hobart, IN, Debbie Zeidel of Chicago IL, and Dorothy Loudon also of Chicago and two brothers; Charles Thomas Parrott of Chicago IL and Gary Kunkel of WI. Mr. Kunkel was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary as the son of a veteran and also the American Legion. He and his family are of the Catholic faith and worked in the heating and air business for Cooling Tower Erectors. In addition to his father, Joseph was preceded in death by a sister; Kimberly Foster, and a brother; Mark Gregory Parrott. No services have been planned at this time, and the family has chosen cremation per Mr. Kunkel’s wishes.
