Jordan Neal Oyston

Funeral services for Jordan Neal Oyston, age 32, of Jacksonville, FL and formerly of Cookeville will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 27th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Jim Reed will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 9am until service time at the church. Jordan passed away suddenly Thursday December 18, 2018 in Jacksonville. Jordan was born Dec 17, 1986 in Cookeville to Cheryl Bates Oyston Brooks and Mark Oyston. He was a 2005 graduate of Cookeville High School and was a member of the National Honor Roll. In high school, he played tennis and was a member of the French Club. Jordan graduated from TTU with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition and worked in the food industry service in Jacksonville, FL. He loved horticulture, cooking, reading, and had a great love of learning. Jordan was a wonderful friend who always had time to listen and involved himself in the service of others. He was a wonderful, loving son and brother and had a multitude of friends. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Douglas Oyston of Mt. Juliet, TN; Ethan Oyston of Cookeville, and two sisters, Elizabeth Oyston of Lebanon, TN, and Megan Oyston of Cookeville, TN, along with 6 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Oscar and Vivian Nash Bates, Bill and Mildred Norrod Oyston and cousin Catherine Dunn Stubben. Jordan was a kind sweet, giving soul who was taken from this earth, but he will remains forever in the hearts and minds of all who knew him.
