Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Johnnie Ruth Johnson, age 83, will be held Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Welch Cemetery in Monterey. Bro. Tim Frank will officiate. Johnnie Ruth Johnson passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Life Care Center in Crossville, TN. She was born in Monterey, Tennessee on October 13, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Mike Lincoln Blaylock and Ola Bowden Blaylock. She attended Monterey High School and Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her faith and family were most important to her throughout her life. She was a devoted Christian lady. She was a member and taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Monterey, Tn. She received her License to Preach in Cookeville, TN. She is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her children, Monty (Sherry) Johnson of Cookeville and Donna (Rocky) Garrett of Monterey; grandchildren, Dustin Johnson, Jennifer Leming, Daniel (Jessica) Garrett, Sarah (Matt) Cunningham and Cynthia (Randall) Rittenberry; great grandchildren, Dylan Leming, Luke Leming,Shalyn Pippin, Lilly, Sam, Caroline and Hannah Garrett and Addilyn and Islee Cunningham; and great great grandchildren, Madilyn and Michael Rittenberry. She is also survived by two sisters, Anna Jo Swafford and Sara Kay Walker (Opless); and by nieces and nephews William Blake Swafford (Melinda), Susan Elaine Welch (Steve) and Stephen Douglas Blaylock (Barbara), and Grey Dunn (Margaret). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Frank Douglas Blaylock, Sammie Jean Blaylock, and Billie Sue Dunn; brothers in law, Roy Swafford and James "Pip" Dunn; and by nephew Barry Michael Swafford.
