Johnnie Maxine Long

Mrs. Johnnie Maxine Long, age 96, of Cookeville, passed away Thursday morning October 24, 2019 at Bethesda Health Care Center. No services are planned. She was born June 18, 1923 in Troy, AL to the late John Franklin Huggins and Valeta Chandler Huggins. Mrs. Long was a retired registered nurse. She is survived by her son, John Long (wife, Darlene) of Granville, TN; daughter Cindy Layton (husband, Kevin) of Spokane, WA; grandchildren, John R. Long, Martha Layton, Amanda Layton, Victoria Layton, Joshua Collins, and Michelle Turcios; great grandchildren, Filip Long, Kenzie Collins, Drew Collins, TJ Melendez, and Gavin Layton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Long; daughter, Rebecca Mitchell; two sisters, Jimmie Covington and Mae Clark; and two brothers, Jessie and Melvin Huggins.
