Memorial service for John P. Smith, age 49 of Smyrna, will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 1 pm in the Dyer Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Smith died Thursday March 10, 2022 in Smyrna, TN. He was born in Royal Oak, MI to William H. Smith and Cora Jane Smith of Cookeville, TN. John was a 1990 graduate of Lamphere High School in Madison Heights, MI. He was US Army National Guard veteran having served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Survivors include: Daughter, Jasmyn Smith of New Castle, PA; SFC William B. Smith, Retired (Karen) of Trout Lake, WA; Mark Smith (Cathy) of Cookeville, TN; Betsy DelBene (Erik) of Cookeville, TN; Ann Smith of Nashville, TN; Ruth Caldwell (Jason) of Knoxville, TN. John was preceded in death by both parents: William H. Smith and Cora Jane Smith; brother, Daniel P. Smith; and niece, Sarah M.
