John Satterly

John Marvin Satterly, age 62 of Cookeville, passed away suddenly Monday January 17, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Because he would not want us to make a fuss, no services are currently planned. John was born May 12, 1959 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH to the late Marvin and Betty Jane Shackelford Satterly. A renaissance man, he worked in gas stations, churches, schools, as an amateur architect, and most notably as a retired senior chief in the US Navy. He lived by the creed “if you are going to do something do it well.” John will be remembered for his fierce loyalty to those he loved. He is survived in this life by his wife of 42 years, Carole, daughters, Alicia (Lee) Harris of Wilmington, DE, Audrey Satterly of Cookeville, and Rebecca Pierce of Jewett City, CT. He was blessed with 3 grandchildren, who truly were the joy of his life: Xander, Lily and Oliver. The love he had for each of you is unending. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you honor John by purchasing yourself a tea and then looking to see who in your circle of influence needs help – and helping them.
