Memorial services for John Albert Pannebaker, 74, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with interment at a later date in Ohio. Rev. Pat Handlson will officiate. Mr. Pannebaker died Wednesday morning, May 4, 2011 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 15, 1936 in Princeton, Illinois to the late Albert Hesler and Marguerite Blum Pannebaker. Mr. Pannebaker knew as a young man that he wanted to become a pilot. He worked to fulfill that dream and served for 33 years as an airline pilot with USAir. He also served as a reserve police officer in Greenwood, IN with 13 years service before moving to Cookeville in 1991. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Pannebaker. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Mary Lou Schmidt Pannebaker (whom he married July 17, 1991 in Cookeville); son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Cathy Pannebaker of Delaware, OH; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Jim Mortensen of Florida; and three grandsons, Samuel, Jonathan and Matthew. Mr. Pannebaker"�s family will receive friends Saturday 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
